Yes! We're currently offering an introductory no-fee period where listing products, browsing listings, and contacting buyers or sellers is 100% free. As an early adopter, you can experience our full platform capabilities while keeping 100% of your transactions.

While browsing listings is available to everyone, creating a free account is necessary to post ads, contact sellers, or save favorite listings. Registration only takes a minute and gives you access to all platform features, including your personalized dashboard to track your buying and selling activities.

For Sellers

Posting an ad on OpenSell is simple:

  1. Log in to your OpenSell account
  2. Click the "Post an Ad" button from the homepage or dashboard
  3. Select the appropriate category for your item
  4. Fill in your product details with descriptive information
  5. Upload clear, high-quality photos (up to 10 images)
  6. Set your price and location
  7. Review your listing and submit

Your ad will be reviewed briefly for compliance with our guidelines and usually goes live within 24 hours.

To manage your listings:

  1. Log in to your OpenSell account
  2. Navigate to "My Dashboard" then "My Listings"
  3. Find the listing you want to manage
  4. Click "Edit" to update details or "Delete" to remove the listing

You can edit most details including price, description, and photos. If you've already sold the item elsewhere, please remember to remove your listing promptly.

To maximize your listing's effectiveness:

  • Use quality photos: Take clear, well-lit pictures from multiple angles
  • Write detailed descriptions: Include specifications, dimensions, condition, and usage history
  • Price competitively: Research similar items to set a fair market price
  • Be responsive: Answer inquiries promptly to increase your chances of making a sale
  • Be honest: Accurately describe any flaws or issues with the item

Listings with complete information and quality photos typically receive significantly more interest from potential buyers.

For Buyers

To contact a seller about their listing:

  1. Open the listing you're interested in
  2. Click the "Contact Seller" button
  3. Choose your preferred contact method:
    • Direct message through our platform
    • WhatsApp (if the seller has enabled this option)
    • Phone call (if the seller has shared their number)

For your security, we recommend keeping initial communications within the OpenSell platform before arranging to meet or share additional contact details.

For safe transactions on OpenSell, we recommend:

  • Meet in public places during daylight hours, preferably with someone accompanying you
  • Inspect items thoroughly before making payment
  • Avoid advance payments without seeing the item first
  • Be wary of deals that seem too good to be true
  • For high-value items, consider meeting at bank premises or secure locations
  • Trust your instincts and walk away if something feels wrong

OpenSell prioritizes user safety, but each transaction ultimately happens between individual buyers and sellers.

If you encounter a suspicious listing or seller:

  1. Click the "Report" button located on the listing page
  2. Select the appropriate reason for reporting
  3. Provide additional details about your concern
  4. Submit your report

Account Management

To update your account information:

  1. Log in to your OpenSell account
  2. Navigate to "My Dashboard"
  3. Click on "Account Settings" or "Profile"
  4. Update your information as needed
  5. Save your changes

You can update your name, profile picture, contact information, and notification preferences. For security purposes, changing your email address may require verification.

To reset your password:

  1. Click "Login" from the homepage
  2. Select "Forgot Password?"
  3. Enter the email address associated with your account
  4. Check your email for a password reset link
  5. Follow the instructions to create a new password

For security reasons, password reset links expire after 24 hours. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder or contact our support team for assistance.
